The United Methodist Church of Sun City Center, 1210 Del Webb Blvd. West, welcomes back Christmas With the Celts Friday, November 30, 2018 at 7 p.m. in the church’s spacious sanctuary, decorated for the Christmas season.  Christmas With the Celts, the original concert series starring Celtic Band “Marcille Wallis and Friends”, celebrates 19 years of high-energy, holiday-themed music and dance with a Celtic flair. Founded in 2000, Christmas With The Celts has played to tens of thousands of Floridians, becoming a beloved family holiday tradition for many of them. Concert goers will be treated to a unique blend of seasonal music from the Celtic lands, played on traditional Celtic instruments, Christmas favorites and popular Irish/Scottish songs, tunes and dance numbers.

Marcille Wallis and Friends features renowned hammered dulcimer artist Marcille Wallis, who has released multiple CDs that have received worldwide distribution, as well as extensive radio and internet play. Longtime musical partner Matt Miller, is at her side. Miller has numerous competitive titles to his credit, including Florida State Fiddle Champion and Florida Bluegrass Fiddle Champion. The band also includes Don Pigeon, a New England native who grew up in the Irish tradition, singing and playing a variety of traditional Celtic instruments, including flute, pennywhistle and mandolin. Rounding out the group is Sebastian Valley, a championship level Irish dancer, and founding member of the dance troupe Tampa Bay Treblemakers.

Marcille Wallis and Friends, who perform under the umbrella of Celtic Heritage, regularly appear at numerous Celtic festivals and Scottish Highland gatherings around the country, and have performed at attractions such as Dollywood, Walt Disney’s Epcot Center, Biltmore Estate and were featured performers in Florida’s largest 2015 St Patrick’s Day party in The Villages.
