South Bay Hospital has named Warren Pate, former assistant chief financial officer of Brandon Regional Hospital, to the position of chief financial officer of the 138-bed hospital in Sun City Center. Both hospitals are part of the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) national group system which includes 16 HCA hospitals in the West Florida Division. Pate will join the South Bay Hospital team on June 1 of this year.
Pate is a certified public accountant with a Masters and Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from the University of Mississippi, Patterson School of Accountancy.
In addition to his experience at Brandon Regional Hospital, Pate’s past experience includes roles at HCA’s corporate headquarters as senior manager and manager of internal audit where he developed financial and operational audit strategies, engaged and worked closely with company personnel to ensure quality service, timely and effective communication and the company’s compliance with applicable accounting rules and regulations.
Prior to HCA, Pate was with Deloitte and Touche, LLP where he was a senior audit associate. In this role, he developed specialized knowledge related to revenue cycles and reimbursement risk for healthcare providers, analyzed financial statements, models and complex health care accounting transactions.
