World Class Concert Pianist Coming to Sun City Center

The United Methodist Church of Sun City Center, 1210 Del Webb Blvd. West, welcomes Alan Curtis Tripp for a 7:00p.m. concert Friday, January 25, 2019. Tripp has performed at UMCSCC twice before, but under different settings. In July 2018, he came to accompany the great Gospel singer, Larry Ford. And in January, 2015 he performed as one half of the popular Gospel duo, Kaptivating Keyboards, a “dueling pianos” type of act.

Alan Curtis Tripp is an astonishingly gifted pianist, who also composes and arranges music. He overcame a childhood of difficult health challenges that almost took his young life to accomplish much to this point in his life. In 2015, he conducted a bicycle charity tour by riding his bike 3,000 miles across the United States for Kids Alive International, performing piano concerts along the way. He embraces many genres of music including Jazz, Gospel, Classical, Country, Patriotic and Latin, and plays all of them with flair. A native of Clearwater, he began studying piano at the age of nine. By the age of 14 he was presenting full piano concerts and recitals. He has performed in Mexico, Canada, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Spain, Ireland, Morocco and almost all 50 states in the USA.

Tripp may be as zany and engaging as he is musically gifted. His stories are always entertaining, and his view of the world can be different, yet insightful. It is possible that during the concert, you will laugh, cry and be amazed at his talent… maybe all even on the same song! Tripp states simply, “I want to share the joy I have that God has given me through the gift of music. I believe music can heal, encourage, and inspire others and I count is as a privilege to be able to combine my love for humor and several styles of music to do just that.”

A donation of $10 is requested at the door on the night of the concert.
